Kanji Medallions
A kanji is a Japanese symbol that has a meaning, much like
a word. Glass artist Chris Norlin creates kanji medallions
using a round beveled disk; the standard size is 4 inches
in diameter, but she also makes them in 3-, 5-, and 6-inch
sizes. She sandblasts the symbol on the back side of the glass,
cutting deep to give the image a three-dimensional quality.
